Mike Riedlinger (Teaching Team)


Mike is a seasoned start-up venturer with decades of experience as a founder, board member, strategist, managing director, and in operational roles in software, organizational development, biotech, medical device and material science companies. Supporting entrepreneurs in their endeavors is a special focus. This includes business model development, product development, fund-raising, sales and marketing strategy and implementation. Development of new approaches for entrepreneurial training and technology commercialization are current initiatives. Mike is the HTRLaunchPad Program Manager and Director of the Rochester BioVenture Center (HTR/Uof R).

Todd Neilsen (Teaching Team)


Todd Nielsen is a Product Development & Customer Discovery veteran with 20 years corporate marketing and business development experience, 10+ in strategic roles. Todd’s corporate background is in B2B Marketing, particularly in product management, new product commercialization, and business development in industries like medical devices, medical imaging, and learning solutions.

Martin Edic (Teaching Team)


Martin was a founder of Powertango Media and 24PageBooks, Inc. He has served as Director of Marketing for BlueTie Inc, Techrigy Inc and Hospitality 101/CaterTrax Inc. He is the author of eight non-fiction business and design books and currently is a co-founder of Innovocracy Inc.

Advisory Board:

Alex Zapesochny


Alex Zapesochny is co-founder and president of iCardiac Technologies, which has commercialized research from the University of Rochester and from Pfizer for better assessing the potential cardiac side effects of new pharmaceutical products.  iCardiac now works with 7 of the largest 10 pharmaceutical companies in the world.  Previously he was part of the executive management team at Lenel Systems, a rapidly-growing security software startup that that was acquired by United Technologies for $440m.  He has also served as an attorney, Board member or advisor to various startups and innovative social enterprises.

Mikael Totterman


Founder, Chairman and CEO of iCardiac Technologies, a technology spin out from the University of Rochester, currently serving 7 of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies.  Founding Board Director at Qmetrics Technologies, a full service imaging core lab for clinical trials and diagnostics. Chairman of Innovocracy, an academic crowdfunding platform working with University of Rochester, Cornel, and John’s Hopkins.  Co-Chair of Life Sciences for New York State Regional Economic Development Council (FLREDC).  Former EVP and COO at VirtualScopics (NASDAQ), a technology spin out from the University of Rochester, focused on advanced clinical trial analytics.

Sasha Latypova


Sasha Latypova is co-founder and executive vice president at iCardiac Technologies, Inc.  Prior to iCardiac Technologies, Ms. Latypova headed sales and business development at VirtualScopics, Inc. (VSCP) a leading developer of image-based biomarkers for improving pharmaceutical development. During her tenure at VirtualScopics, she expanded the client portfolio from one lead customer, Pfizer, to 6 of the top-10 pharmaceutical companies as well as multiple smaller pharmaceutical and medical device clients. Prior to VirtualScopics, Ms. Latypova was a Manager in healthcare practice at Analysis Group, Inc., a Boston-based economics, financial and strategy consultancy.

Richard Glaser


Mr. Glaser started as an investment banker in Merrill Lynch’s mergers and acquisitions department in the mid-’80s.  He spent most of his career in venture capital as a partner in several New York City-based funds affiliated with Lepercq, de Neuflize, Hudson Ventures and Village Ventures.  He now works directly with entrepreneurs and businesses owners as a financial advisor with a leading securities firm.

James Senall


Jim joined High Tech Rochester as President in February 2009, and in that capacity serves as “chief catalyst” in achieving HTR’s mission of entrepreneurship and innovation-based regional growth. Jim also serves as the Managing Director of the Rochester Angel Network, a group he co-founded in 2005. Jim currently serves as Chairman of the Business Incubator Association of NY State, is a board member of the New York State Economic Development Council, a board member of Adarza Biosystems, and is on the executive committee of the University of Rochester’s Technology Development Fund.

Chris Alvaro


Chris is a Product Lead at Pictometry International. He is a technically savvy and financially astute Product Management and Marketing professional with demonstrated success launching and growing profitable products, including a $450 million global product line. His passion is how technology disrupts existing business models and enables new ones.

Fred Beers


Fred is President at ITX Corp.  A visionary Entrepreneur who builds simple useful technology products, Fred founded and developed several businesses including one recognized as Inc 500 and Rochester Top 100 Company.

Ed Bizari


Ed was most recently Vice-President Global Sales – TEMS and Government Markets at Performance Technologies. He is an accomplished Sales, Marketing and Business Executive with extensive global technology experience.

Jim Bullock


Jim is a Principal Consultant at Rare Bird Enterprises “Conscious Development.” He is a delivery focused software & IT development leader and change agent helping software product and IT development teams align what they ship and how they ship it with their business.

Jim Campbell


Jim is President at Viewpoint Systems. His specialties
Include designing and analyzing automated measurement and control systems. He enjoys working with people and developing relationships with clients and collaborations with other organizations.

Dale Canning


Dale is President at Raland Technologies, LLC. After nearly two decades as an executive at Premier Technical Services, he merged Premier with Raland Technologies, assuming the role of President and CEO. Dale is principal at Raland Therapeutics, a startup medical device company. His specialties include training strategy, design and development and technical specialties of all kinds – really too numerous to list.

Ray Casterline


Ray is a regular contributor, technical lead and project manager on any number of projects over the last 20 years. He has worked at all levels of software engineering from board bring up to very large distributed applications. He is experienced in the consumer product space and in bringing projects to close on time and on budget.

Jaimie Cole


Vice President of Technology at iCardiac Technologies, Inc. Jaimie is a Senior Information Technology professional specializing in IT infrastructure control and compliance for the healthcare IT industry as well as agile/lean software development techniques. He brings extensive experience as a software developer, software development manager, software project manager, and software quality manager.

Paul Cypher


Paul is President and CEO of Cypherworx. He has more than 20 years experience in non-profit and for-profit company leadership positions. As President of CypherWorx, Inc. he develops dynamic eLearning solutions for associations and small business solution providers.

Monty is a Harvard trained lawyer interested in emerging technology companies, formation, operation and governance, financing, recruiting talent, establishing strategic alliances, and IP protection. Sean Flaherty


Sean studied aviation electronics working on F-14 Tomcats in the Navy, molecular genetics at the University of Rochester and information technology in the trenches as an entrepreneur. His most recent accomplishments are the pioneering and thought leadership of key technologies as the EVP of Strategy for ITX Corporation where they create cutting edge software for building integrated, cross-platform web and mobile solutions. He is most happy solving technology problems that help clients move, touch and inspire the world.

Mark Gentile


Mark is Senior Technical Director of Enterprise Mobility at Symantec. A software executive, entrepreneur, and strategist with over 20 years of experience in bringing best-in-class software products to market, Mark specializes in mobility solutions designed for enterprise companies.
He founded Odyssey Software in 1996, a leader in the mobile device management market, and served as the company’s President and CEO until the company was acquired by Symantec Corporation in March 2012.

Michele Gleber


Michele is the President at PLS. A marketing consultant for technology companies, she creates and guides the execution of strategies driving growth. Experienced in helping small companies grow aggressively through new markets, new channels and new approaches, she works with leaders and stakeholders to define and assert a company’s competitive advantage and a clear and customer-focused message. I also help companies develop and leverage their IP portfolio to differentiate them in the market.

Sean Gleeson


Sean is a former Chief Strategy Officer at RailComm. He brings 20+ years experience in Technology based industries where he led organizations to produce sustained revenue, EBIDTA, market share growth in dynamic and changing markets. He has worked in manufacturing, technology and entrepreneurial start-up enterprises. His experience includes extensive business background in both domestic and international, multi-cultural environments.

Andre Godfrey

Battle tested and calm under pressure with an entrepreneurial spirit that burns bright even in the most challenging of circumstances. 11 years in P&L and general management roles with responsibility for senior executive teams and up to 78 multi-disciplinary engineering consultants and associated employees.

Thuan Pham


Thuan is Director of Software Development at iCardiac Technologies, Inc. He is experienced in analysis, architecture, design, implementation, testing, integrated testing, and deployment of business oriented programming on Windows Platform. Designed and developed standalone applications, web-based multi-user office tools, and client-server applications using C#, ASP.NET, ASP, Visual Basic, JavaScript, C++, and SQL Server.

Rich Rund


Rich is CEO / Co-Founder at CaterTrax, a 50 employee SaaS (software-as-a-service) company in Rochester, NY. CaterTrax provides self service ordering and kitchen automation for the foodservice industry. As a 4th generation foodservice entrepreneur, Rich grew up in the kitchens and operations of his family’s restaurant and catering businesses which have been fixtures in the Rochester area since 1906.

Bob Ruppenthal


Bob is Owner, and President at RTEmd. He has thirty years of experience in development and integration of software for commercial product applications. As RTEmd’s president and co-founder, he has responsibility for strategic planning, administration, industry partnerships and key customer relationships. Prior to forming the company, he was a lead software developer on several large product development teams including clinical chemistry, elevator control and aerospace systems.

Andrew Scheinman


Andrew is a Patent Attorney with 10 years of professional experience in patent law and an extensive scientific background including a PhD in molecular biology. He specializes in IP portfolio development in order to obtain commercial value, and I use a variety of sophisticated search tools to achieve this goal, including a variety of proprietary tools I developed specifically for this purpose.
