Friday afternoon we opened the new HTRLaunchPad space for the first time to host our mentor orientation. The rooms were jammed and the engagement level was high. Mike Riedlinger gave a concise review of the LaunchPad methodology, including extensive examples from his own experiences at Stanford. We covered expectations for mentors and advisors and discussed how to do the job effectively. The focus is on helping the founder teams make connections and ask the right questions when they are getting out of the building. This is vital to a successful customer discovery experience, the critical element in developing a scalable, sustainable business model.
