While this isn’t the official announcement (watch for that in December with application information!), we are pleased to announce that we will be repeating the program early next year. With the gracious support of the Max and Marion Farash Charitable Foundation, the HTRLaunchPad 2014 will once again be helping ~10 software startups in our area. The three month program utilizes the lean startup methodology originated in Silicon Valley and now being applied in all kinds of startup situations across the planet.
Our experience this year was extremely positive and we’re looking forward to working with a new class of startups in the near future.
Some things to think about if you’re considering applying:
- We’re looking for Founder Teams, not individuals. There are good reasons for this, especially because this is an intense process that was designed for multiple team members.
- What stage? Generally pre-revenue and preferably early enough that you have the flexibility to understand that your idea may or may not be viable (you’ll learn why!)
- Business plans are not a part of the process. The lean methodology says startups are not businesses, they are a search for a profitable, scalable business model. Until you have that, most planning is simply guesswork.
- This is a group effort. If you can’t openly share your ideas and progress with others, this program probably won’t work for you. In our experience, the group dynamic was very powerful for the teams, bringing a lot of perspective and support to the program.
That’s all for now, but stay tuned for our official announcement and online application process. We’re excited to learn about your startup concept!
